Strategic Aim 8To improve the collection and use of data/in<strong>for</strong>mation regarding the nature andextent of the housing needs of people <strong>with</strong> a disability8.1 Effectively implement the new Assessment of Need process to ensure the collectionof comprehensive and accurate data in relation to the housing and related supportneeds of people <strong>with</strong> various disabilities;8.2 Households <strong>with</strong> a person <strong>with</strong> a disability to be prioritised <strong>for</strong> reassessment undernew Assessment of Need process;8.3 All staff involved in the assessment of need process should receive disability specifictraining to develop an understanding of the range of varying disabilities andimplications <strong>for</strong> housing;8.4 The <strong>Housing</strong> Needs Assessment process should be supplemented by <strong>for</strong>malisedengagement between relevant statutory and non-statutory agencies and/or <strong>with</strong>relevant interagency protocols;8.5 All organisations involved in the delivery of services to people <strong>with</strong> disabilities toproactively in<strong>for</strong>m clients in relation to applying <strong>for</strong> social housing supports.22
