Enablingpeople <strong>with</strong> disabilities to live as independently as possible in the community requires amulti agency approach between relevant Departments and agencies. A <strong>for</strong>malised structureof collaboration will enhance, expand and <strong>for</strong>malise current arrangements which are inoperation and working well at local level. This will facilitate the channelling of existingresources to provide <strong>for</strong> a more strategic approach to meeting need, while ensuring thatagreed interagency protocols are implemented effectively and deliver appropriate results.Interagency cooperation is a key cornerstone <strong>for</strong> good practice in the delivery of housingand other supports to people <strong>with</strong> disabilities.79
