Doctor <strong>of</strong> Medicine Microbiology<br />
Requirements for entry<br />
1. Candidates must be fully registered medical<br />
practitioners in one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> territories <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Commonwealth<br />
Caribbean.<br />
2. Applicants will be eligible for entry after<br />
completing <strong>the</strong>ir internship<br />

2. Immunological, molecular and genetic bases <strong>of</strong><br />
infectious diseases<br />
3. Autoimmune diseases<br />
4. Epidemiology <strong>of</strong> Parasitic and Neglected Tropical<br />
Diseases<br />
5. Central nervous system viruses<br />

Programme Structure:<br />
This programme is an upgrade <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> current MSc<br />
(<strong>Medical</strong> Microbiology). In <strong>the</strong> revised format <strong>the</strong><br />
course <strong>of</strong>fers <strong>the</strong> following advantages:<br />
1. Allows GPA ratings and <strong>the</strong>refore more acceptability<br />
internationally<br />
2. Facilitates easier delivery and accreditation.<br />
3. Lends itself to students assessment <strong>of</strong> teaching<br />
and course evaluation.<br />
4.Formal teaching <strong>of</strong> Research skills which will ensure<br />
a graduate with better potential to design studies,<br />
conduct research and undertake a terminal degree<br />
(PhD, DPhil, DM) training<br />
5. Provides funds to <strong>the</strong> department from fees which<br />
can be used to support <strong>the</strong> programme and turn a<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>it. Currently, <strong>the</strong> MSc programme is funded from<br />
<strong>the</strong> departments annual subvention and Consultation<br />
Funds, nei<strong>the</strong>r <strong>of</strong> which have line listings for<br />
graduate studies<br />
