3.1Immigration and public opinionAndrew MarkusAndrew Markus holds the Pratt Foundation Research Chair of JewishCivilisation at Monash University and is a Fellow of the Academy of the SocialSciences in Australia. He has published extensively on Australian immigrationand race relations. His recent publications include the co-authored Australia’sImmigration Revolution (2009) and Immigration and Nation Building: Australiaand Israel Compared (2010). Andrew heads the Scanlon Foundation MappingSocial Cohesion national research program, which will be conducting its fifthnational survey in 2012, and is the principal researcher on the Australian Jewish population and YiddishMelbourne research projects.
