SPECIAL ACADEMIC OPPORTUNITIESmust fulfill all other basic proficiencies in the general educationcore, with the exception of EN 101. Students who meet the program’s admissionrequirements will be sent a letter of invitation and an applicationfrom the director after they have applied to <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong>.The application requests basic personal information and thecomposition of a 500-word essay on a selection of topics.4+1 MBA ProgramStudents who have completed at least 90 undergraduatesemester credits with a cumulative grade point average of notless than 3.00 may register for up to 12 semester credits ofcourses in the <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong> Master of BusinessAdministration program. These courses may be counted aselective credits towards bachelor's degree completion. Uponadmission to the <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong> MBA program, up to 12semester credits of such course work in which the student hasearned a grade of "B" of better will be applied towards the 36semester credits requirement for the MBA degree. Participationrequires an application and approval by the Dean of the School ofBusiness.HONORSHonorsThe Dean’s List is compiled at the end of the fall and springsemesters. To be eligible, a student must be degree-seeking andhave completed at least eight hours of credit at <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong>during the semester, must have no incomplete grades and musthave a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher. Pass/failcourses are not included in the requisite eight semester creditsnor do they affect the grade point average.Mortar BoardMortar Board is a national honor society for college seniors usingthe criteria of excellence in scholarship, leadership and service.Only students in the top 35% of their class in the junior year areeligible to be nominated. This prestigious group is involved with avariety of service projects both on campus and in the community.ARTICULATION AGREEMENTCritical Languages Consortium<strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong> participates as a charter member of the CriticalLanguages Consortium (CLC) of northeastern Ohio. The CLCconsists of one public university (University of Akron) and sixprivate colleges (<strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong>, Hiram <strong>College</strong>, John CarrollUniversity, Notre Dame <strong>College</strong> of Ohio, Siegel <strong>College</strong> of JewishStudies and Ursuline <strong>College</strong>) that collaborate to providesynchronous distance learning in modern languages that arefederally defined as "critical."
