Legal assistants work for private lawfirms, government, banks, insurance companies and real estateagencies. Ohio prohibits the practice of law by non-attorneys. Inaddition to the <strong>College</strong>'s general transfer credit policy, anystudent transferring legal specialty credits must comply with thefollowing policy:The Legal Studies Program Director will review the coursedescription and/or syllabus of any legal specialty course taken atanother institution to ascertain if it is equivalent to a course at<strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong> and determine whether to allow credit. The major emphasizes critical thinking, team andwritten communication skills and incorporates a BusinessApplication Project that builds on the knowledge gained in eachprogram class. Coursework is designed specifically to capitalizeon the learning styles of adult students, through an acceleratedcohort model.
