Spanish is spoken by almost400 million people worldwide; moreover, about half thepopulation of the Western Hemisphere speaks Spanish, making itthe primary language for as many people as English in this part ofthe world. Even within the U.S. Spanish is the second mostwidely-spoken language. A major in Spanish Studies allowsstudents to engage with a rich variety of history, literature, artand architecture -- the cultures of Cervantes, Goya, Picasso,Page | 61The sport management major is designed to give studentsexposure to many facets of the growing sport management field.The program builds on a foundation of business courses withapplication-specific courses in the sports industry.
