Aggregateeconomics, dealing with consumption, prices, money, taxationand proposals for economic progress. The question of objectiveand rational versus moral and ethical behavior is addressed.EC 301 Intermediate Economics (4 SH)Pre-Requisite(s): EC 200This course offers an advanced treatment of the principles ofmicroeconomics and macroeconomics and builds on theknowledge gained in Principles of Economics (EC 200). At themicro level, it provides an advanced analysis of consumerdemand, theory of production and costs, market structures andfactor incomes. At the macro level, the topics covered are anadvanced analysis of changes in national income, employment,output, price level, money supply and economic growth.EC 322 International Economics (4 SH)Pre-Requisite(s): EC 200, MN 215An application of basic economic principles to the internationalallocation of resources through trade and factor flows and ananalysis of the institutional framework within which internationaleconomic policies operate. An application of basic economicprinciples to international trade and finance, including ananalysis of world market equilibrium and the institutionalframework within which international economic policies operate.EC 420 Econometrics (4 SH)Pre-Requisite(s): EC 301 or EC 200 and MN 215An introduction to basic econometrics including theory andapplication of regression analysis to economic, financial andother social sciences data. It will cover typical problems ofapplied research including parameter estimation, hypothesistesting, model building and forecasting techniques.ADOLESCENT / YOUNG ADULT EDUCATION(EDA)EDA 312 Adolescent/Young Adult Field Experience I (2 SH)Pre-Requisite(s): EDC 301The initial clinical hours of this experience are exploratory.Students will observe in schools, tutor students and assistteachers or other school personnel. They will become aware ofthe sociological environment of the school, center or agency as itinterrelates to communities and families. Students should attendschool/community events and participate as permitted. Theremaining hours of the experience are focused and students willdemonstrate appropriate developmental instructional methodsand strategies for teaching their content area. Students willintegrate reading and writing in their lessons.EDA 331 Planning for Instruction (3 SH)This course will enable teacher education candidates to learn andpractice instructional management strategies includingclassroom management, lesson planning, assessment forinstructional planning, materials available for effectiveinstruction, the use of textbooks and supplemental materials,unit planning and the implementation of the Ohio ContentStandards for instructional planning.EDA 401 Content Specific Methods (3 SH)Students will work with a specialist who is a professional teacherin their content area and plan lessons, assessments, classroomorganization materials, content standards and techniques foreffective instruction and learning in each of the followingseparate areas: english/language arts, integrated social studies,mathematics and life sciences.EDA 412 Adolescent/Young Adult Field Experience II (2 SH)Pre-Requisite(s): A grade of B or better in EDA 312 andsuccessful completion of all requirements in Gate AThis field is an intensive experience through which students willdemonstrate their abilities to plan and execute lessons in theircontent area. They will demonstrate the use of technology inteaching and learning episodes.
