FINANCIAL AID2. Apply for private student loans and/or parent PLUSloans, using the <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong> Financial Aid website.Proof of loan funds approval and disbursement dateinformation is due on the semester due dates asindicated in option one.3. Enroll in the Time-Payment Plan, pay the enrollment feeand begin making the monthly payments prior to thesemester due date as indicated in option one. This planis interest free.Note: All of the above options may be combined to make afinancial plan that is suitable for budgeting needs, making surethey are in place on or before the semester due dates asindicated above.Tuition ReimbursementFor a student who receives tuition reimbursement benefitsthrough his/her workplace, 50% of the tuition and fees can bedeferred until the end of the term, with payment due four weeksafter classes end. The remaining 50% must be paid by thesemester due dates, along with the deferred payment fee for thesemester. Interest will not accrue on the unpaid balance.Withdrawal ProcedureA student wanting to take a leave of absence or totally withdrawfrom all classes at <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong> must notify the Registrar’sOffice, either verbally or in writing. The office is located in Room114 <strong>College</strong> Hall.Veterans Benefits<strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong> is approved by the State Approving Agency forVeterans' Training. Veterans who are eligible for educationalbenefits should contact either the VETS Office or Office ofFinancial Aid at <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong>. Veterans' benefits received (asdetermined by the information reported on the Free Applicationfor Student Aid) will be considered a resource in thedetermination of a student’s financial need in accordance withfederal regulations governing the delivery of Title IV StudentFinancial Assistance. Veterans receive the educational benefitsfrom the Veteran Administration (VA) and eligibility and amountsare determined by the VA.FINANCIAL POLICIESTuition and Fee Policyrefund schedules are published there as well. Be sure toreference this information when making decisions to add or dropclasses after the semester begins.Due to federal regulations, all international students entering theUnited States on an F-1 Visa are required to prepay their tuitionfor the entire year before registering for classes. Internationalstudents are not eligible for time-payment plans. Canadianstudents are required to pay each semester prior to registeringfor classes and are not eligible for time-payment plans.Students who do not meet financial obligations on a timely basismay be removed from their educational program. Re-entry intothe program will require payment of a re-matriculation fee equalto the current late registration fee in addition to the regulartuition and fee charges assessed.The <strong>College</strong> reserves the right to withdraw a student from his orher academic program, including academic programs abroad, towithhold grades and transcripts, to deny entry to the residencehalls and to deny participation in graduation exercises if tuitionand fees are not paid on a timely basis. The student may applyfor re-admission to the program for following semesters; readmissionwill be dependent on proof of financial stability.Late fees will be charged on all accounts 30 days past due.Charges that remain unpaid will be sent to a third partycollection service. At that time, the collection fees, interestcharges and legal fees will be added to the balance on thestudent’s account and these accounts will also be reported to thecredit bureau.Refund PolicyIf registration is canceled prior to the start of classes, a fullrefund will be made with the exception of the admissionsdeposit. The student’s account will be credited only after theproper withdrawal forms have been filed with the Registrar andthe exit interview is completed. Students must contact theRegistrar’s Office to officially withdraw from the school.Refund dates are found on the website each semester. Refer tothis information for the financial impact of dropping/withdrawingfrom classes. Students withdrawing and/or changing statusbetween full-time and part-time should speak with both theFinancial Aid and Bursar Offices to be sure they understand thefull impact of their decision.Fees may be calculated by referring to the tuition and feeschedule listed on the website for each semester.
