CAMPUS INFORMATIONReadmission to <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong>A student who has attended <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong> but has not takenclasses for two or more semesters is considered inactive. If thestudent has not attended another college or university in theinterim, the student should contact the Registrar at <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong><strong>College</strong> who will begin the process of reactivation for thatstudent based upon the student’s past record at the <strong>College</strong>.A student who withdraws from <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> to attend anotherinstitution must apply for admission as a transfer student.Contact the Office of Admissions for a new application form tobegin the process. The complete details for transfer admissionare stated above.A student who has been accepted to <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong> but doesnot attend after acceptance for more than one semester mustreapply to the <strong>College</strong>.Transient StudentsA student enrolled at another institution who wishes to take acourse or courses at <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong> must submit a letter ofauthorization from the Registrar or other designated official atthe student’s home institution. This authorization letter issubmitted to the Registrar’s Office at <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong> at thetime of registration.Advanced Placement<strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong> participates in the Advanced PlacementProgram administered by the <strong>College</strong> Board. A student mayreceive a course waiver with a score of “3.” A course waiver andcollege credit will be given for scores of “4” and “5.” Officialscores must be received to receive waivers and/or credit.International Baccalaureate ProgramStudents who have earned an IB diploma will be granted 32credit hours and fulfillment of the General Education Curriculumupon entrance to <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong>. Students who earn IBCertificates or take single IB course units but who do notcomplete the entire diploma program can receive credit byearning the necessary scores on exams. Scores of “4” will earn asubject waiver, scores of “5” or higher will earn college credit.Courses will be evaluated on an individual basis to determinewhich requirement a course fulfills. An individual course can onlyfulfill one general education requirement, but can fulfill both amajor and general education requirement. In each case, credithours for a single course will only be granted once.Final High School TranscriptFirst-time freshmen must submit a final high school transcriptthat specifically demonstrates that the student graduated fromhigh school prior to the beginning of their first semester. Aregistration block will be placed on a student’s account for thesecond semester if the final transcript is not received.MILITARY VETERANS<strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong> Veteran Education & Transition SupportProgram<strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong> is approved by the Department of VeteransAffairs and the State of Ohio for Veterans training. All incomingveterans or eligible dependents should contact the V.E.T.S.(Veteran Education & Transition Support Program) Coordinatorwho will handle all the aspects of enrolling into <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong>.<strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong> is proud to be a “Yellow Ribbon” college inagreement with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Veteranswill process with the VETS Coordinator to determine whatbenefits the veteran will be eligible for including FASFA (Freeapplication for Student Aid).The mission of the V.E.T.S. Program at <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Erie</strong> <strong>College</strong> is tofacilitate the successful enrollment, retention, graduation andemployment of all of our Military Veteran Students. We will dothis by assisting them in transitioning from the military to thecivilian world successfully. The V.E.T.S.
