The program emphasizes an interactive approach toforeign language learning, the development of interculturalliteracy and the acquisition of the professional skills necessary tocompete in the job market. The major's interdisciplinarystructure allows students to concentrate on both foreignlanguage learning and the pursuit of courses offered within anyother major at Lake Erie College. Modern foreign language:applied concentration majors are strongly encouraged to spend asemester abroad.The department of modern foreign languages providesindividualized support in internship as well as in careerplacement.Requirements for the Major:44 semester credits including:concepts such as democracy, power, citizenship, governance andrights and they acquire research skills enabling them tounderstand and analyze political phenomena around the world.The program places an emphasis on the development of thestudent's research, writing and critical thinking skills.
