This program specialty allows for the evaluation of military training andhealthcare experience for awarding nursing academic credit. Methods for evaluating priortraining/experience may include skills assessment, as well as challenge and competencyexams. In addition, this program is targeted to the unique needs of veterans and providesindividualized support, mentoring services, and career placement assistance.V-BSN eligibility requirements:• Veteran with an honorable or general discharge, including reservists who have not yetearned BSN degrees• Active duty who are separating within 6 months may apply• Provide copy of military DD form 214, certificate of release or discharge from active duty• Complete the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam and achieve a minimumoverall score of 65 percent (may be subject to change)Students may enter the program under the following nursing track options:• Traditional Four-Year Track; for students without prior college credit• BSN Transfer Track; for students with prior degrees or college credits; students mustcomplete all prerequisites prior to enrollment• Accelerated Second Degree (ASD) Track; for students with prior baccalaureate degreesin another discipline; students must complete all prerequisites prior to enrollmentV-BSN students must meet all university admission requirements as well as therequirements for the specific nursing track in which they are applying.
