Eleanor Wade Custer School of Nursing • 355BSN Completion Option for Registered Nurse (RN) to MSNThe RN to MSN Degree Option in the School of Nursing enables students who areregistered nurses without a BSN to obtain an MSN degree within one of four specialtyareas: Nurse-Midwifery, Family Nurse Practitioner, Health Systems Management andPsychiatric Mental-Health Nurse Practitioner.However, certain states’ laws (e.g., West Virginia and Maryland) require certified nursepractitioners to have a bachelor’s degree or BSN in order to obtain prescriptive authorityas a nurse practitioner.
