ATP 390 FIELD EXPERIENCE – ORTHOPEDICS0.5 s.h.This course provides students with an experiential learning opportunity in a orthopedic office setting. Theexperience will allow the student to observe the dynamics of an orthopedic office and when permitted,demonstrate and refine your knowledge, skills, and abilities as a physician extender, as well as work withdifferent populations. This course requires the completion of 25 clinical hours. Prerequisite: ATP 319.This course is offered every semester fall, spring, and summer.ATP 391 FIELD EXPERIENCE – REHABILITATION1 s.h.The overall goal of this course is to provide students with an experiential learning opportunity in arehabilitation setting. The experience will allow the student to demonstrate and refine their knowledge,skills, and abilities in rehabilitating different populations. This course requires the completion of 50clinical hours. Prerequisite: ATP 383. This course is offered every semester fall, spring, and summer.ATP 392 FIELD EXPERIENCE - HIGH SCHOOL1 s.h.The overall goal of this course is to provide students with an experiential learning opportunity in a highschool setting. The experience allows students to demonstrate and refine their knowledge, skills, andabilities in assessing injuries and illnesses of athletes and others involved in physical activity, determiningproper care, and the appropriate referral of individuals to other health care providers. Pre-requisite: ATP 382 orpermission of instructor. This course is offered every spring.ATP 485 SPECIAL TOPICS IN ATHLETIC TRAINING1-3 s.h.This course will include the study of special topics of critical, contemporary concern to Athletic Training.Prerequisite: Permission of the Department Head.
