They must be given clearance by the Admissions Office, Financial Aid Office, BusinessOffice, Registrar’s Office, and the Office of Student Development and Services before being considered forre-admission.Evening to Day AdmissionsStudents who wish to switch from <strong>MU</strong> at Night enrollment to Day Program enrollment on a full or parttimebasis must make formal application to the Day Program. All materials required of other Day Programapplicants, with the exception of the application fee, are required. Note: Students who are currently onacademic warning, probation, or suspension in <strong>MU</strong> at Night are not eligible to take courses in the dayprogram.SPECIAL STUDENTS, INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS, AND PROFESSIONAL GOLFMANAGEMENT STUDENTSAdmission of Special StudentsSpecial students at <strong>Methodist</strong> <strong>University</strong> are defined as non-degree seeking students who enroll incourses on a one-time or intermittent basis for reasons including personal enrichment, professionaldevelopment, or completion of graduate school prerequisites. Special students can be separated into twogroups: those who have completed a bachelor’s degree and those who have not. Students who havecompleted a bachelor’s degree must submit an official transcript from the degree granting institution asproof of graduation to be admitted as a special student. Students who have not completed a bachelor’sdegree must submit an official high school transcript or GED results to be admitted. Special students willbe allowed to register for up to 30 semester hours before being required to apply as degree-seeking, regularstudents and meet all admissions requirements. Special student enrollment is subject to the availability ofspace in the desired course(s). Special students wishing to enroll in a course with prerequisite requirementsmust be able to show successful completion of those prerequisites through provision of official collegetranscript(s). Special students may not live on campus, participate in intercollegiate athletics, receivefinancial assistance or utilize veteran’s benefits.Visiting StudentsAn applicant seeking admission as a visiting student must have a letter of permission from his or herresident college forwarded to the Admissions Office.High School Dual EnrollmentHigh school-age students who possess outstanding academic potential and who would benefit byattending <strong>Methodist</strong> <strong>University</strong> may do so under the following circumstances:1. The student should be at least sixteen years of age and classified as a junior based on high schoolcourses completed.2. High school-age students may attend <strong>Methodist</strong> <strong>University</strong> on a space-available basis. Theschedule of courses to be taken must be approved by the Vice President for Academic Affairs.3. Interested students must submit an application as a special student to the Office of Admissions.4. The applicant may be required to submit a letter from his/her guidance counselor or home schooladministrator.Tuition for Special StudentsSpecial students will be charged the standard per hour tuition as described in the Finances section (page227).225
