168Spatial distribution of the mean ozone concentrationover the forest territory in the CzechRepublic in April – September is shown in Fig. 5.Ozone concentration values are ranging from 57 to116 µg m –3 . Mean ozone concentration is 79 µg m –3 .The highest values of ozone concentrationswere recorded in the borderline of mountain regions(higher altitudes), in the Krušné Mts in thenorthwest part of the country, the Jeseníky Mts inthe northern part of the country and the ŠumavaMts in the south. The locations in higher altitudesare more exposed to ground ozone and are lessaffected by night inversion conditions. Thus theconcentration values of ground ozone in the opengrow up with an increasing altitude. The highestvalues of ozone concentrations were localised inhigher altitudes of the mountain areas.Fig. 5 Mean ozone concentration (µg m –3 ) in forest in the Czech Republic on a 1 x 1 km gridin April – September 20063.2 Ozone deposition fluxSpatial distribution of mean total and stomatalfluxes of ozone to coniferous and deciduous forestsover the Czech Republic in April – September areshown in Fig. 6. The highest values of total fluxesof ozone were recorded in higher altitudes of mountainareas, in Krušné Mts in north-west, the ŠumavaMts in the south and the south-eastern partsof the Czech Republic.Ozone deposition model statistics are presentedin Table 3.Calculated deposition velocities of ozone forconiferous and deciduous forest were comparedwith observations based on the data from literature(Tab. 4). The modelled data are in good agreementwith the observed ones.
