After drying and homogenizingTMA 254 measured the sample.RESULTS AND DISCUSSION.Active soil reaction (pH) is presented inTable 1. It shown that only samples 1 and 3 areslightly alkaline and the rest are acid soils. It is supposedthat in the acid soils the Hg 2+ is bonded toorganic matter. The influence of Rudňany miningplant ŽB (iron ore mining) Fig. 1 is evident fromthe extremely high total mercury concentration inthe samples 1, 4, 5, and 6. In the past, for wholecenturies, this locality was the center of miningindustry and ore treatment.
