The Inadequacy of the State Idea 301take up the control of the cooperative action of the community,it condemns itself to create a monstrous machinery which willend by crushing out the freedom, initiative and various growthof the human being. The State is bound to act crudely and in the mass; it isincapable of that free, harmonious and intelligently or instinctivelyvaried action which is proper to organic growth.
