Room/Residence ChangesThe University believes that learning how to get along with other people is an important part of aneducation. All attempts will be made to ensure that roommates are compatible. Occasionally, unforeseen situations arise in which two roommates will need to separate. All residents areencouraged to work through any difficult situations with the help of a Resident Assistant or theirRD/AC before considering a room change. Seminary and graduate students should consult theDirector of Residence Life. Room/residence changes are not generally made within the first twoweeks of the semester. Room/Residence Change forms are available through the Office ofResidence Life and the Resident Assistants on each floor in traditional halls, and must becompleted before the Area Coordinator can act upon the request. The Director of Residence Lifehas the responsibility of final approval. All requests for room/residence changes must bediscussed prior to the move with your RD/AC or the Director of Residence Life. Residents may notchange rooms/residences without prior approval from the RD/AC or Director of Residence Life.Room ConsolidationIf residents find themselves without a roommate either at the beginning of the semester or at anytime during the first eight weeks of the semester, they will be considered participants in the roomconsolidation process. Residents who choose to oppose this process and not follow deadlines forcompliance will be billed for a single room. They may also be sanctioned in a disciplinary manner.Room EntryOfficials of the University reserve the right to enter any residence hall room, apartment,University-owned house or townhouse under the following circumstances:• To conduct health and safety inspections.
