Registrar’s Office 563/589-3178The Registrar’s Office is located on third floor <strong>of</strong> Charles and Romona Myers Center. This<strong>of</strong>fice maintains academic records for all students. These records are updated as additionalcredits are earned. <strong>Student</strong>s register for classes, drop or add courses as necessary, makedirectory information changes (such as address, name, parents’ address, and phone numbers),and formally change advisors and major areas <strong>of</strong> study through this <strong>of</strong>fice. Forms for veteransand other persons eligible for veteran’s benefits are initiated and maintained by the Registrar’sOffice. This <strong>of</strong>fice also certifies enrollment for social security, vocational rehabilitation, and socialservices. Other responsibilities <strong>of</strong> the Registrar include posting <strong>of</strong> grades, issuance <strong>of</strong> transcripts,evaluation <strong>of</strong> transfer credit from other colleges and universities, and certification <strong>of</strong> students forgraduation and academic honors.Romona’s Boutique 563/589-7382Romona’s Boutique is located on the main level <strong>of</strong> the Charles and Romona Myers Center.This upscale gift shop carries <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Dubuque</strong> items such as golf apparel, umbrellas,jewelry, crystal glassware, briefcases, pen sets, and other great gift ideas. Gift shop hours varythroughout the year.Safety and Security Office 563/589-3333The Safety and Security Department at the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Dubuque</strong> provides for the safety andsecurity <strong>of</strong> all <strong>University</strong> property 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Campus Safety andSecurity Office is located in Smith Hall, Room 112. Regular <strong>of</strong>fice hours are Monday throughFriday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If assistance is needed after hours call at x3333 or563/589-3333; you may call on the red phone, located on the wall outside <strong>of</strong> the Security Office,and the <strong>of</strong>ficer on duty will assist you.As part <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong>’s efforts to promote and maintain a safe and secure campusenvironment for each member <strong>of</strong> the UD community, the security <strong>of</strong>ficers provide a regularprogram <strong>of</strong> prevention services including:• Responding to emergencies and accidents.• Working with local law enforcement agencies to exchange information and to assist inincidents involving the <strong>University</strong> community on or <strong>of</strong>f-campus.• Conducting routine foot and mobile patrols on campus grounds and monitoring the campusenvironment.• Providing crime prevention training programs.• Speaking at meetings on topics <strong>of</strong> safety and security.• Conducting wellness checks.• Providing specialized security services for university events.• Providing 24-hours per day escorts.While security <strong>of</strong>ficers are not certified as law enforcement <strong>of</strong>ficers, they do receive training onaspects <strong>of</strong> campus safety as well as continual in-house training to upgrade and pr<strong>of</strong>essionalizetheir skills.54
