Failure toprovide this information will precent enrollment.Identification Cards 563/589-3333All students are required to carry a <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Dubuque</strong> photo ID card. ID cards are needed tocash checks, eat in the Dining Hall on a meal plan, check out books at the library, and for freeadmission to the Stoltz Sports Center and home intercollegiate athletic events. Every studentreceives an ID card when he or she first registers for classes. If cards are lost or damaged, theycan be replaced for a $25.00 fee in the Safety and Security Office. <strong>Student</strong>s may make a cashdeposit on their card and may do so in <strong>Student</strong> Accounts located on third floor <strong>of</strong> the MyersTeaching and Administrative Center. This credit allows the student to make purchases in theSnack Bar, the Health Bar, the Dining Hall, Babka Bookstore, and Sylvia’s Common Ground C<strong>of</strong>feeHouse. Any charges made against the credit balance are automatically deducted until the creditbalance is depleted.International <strong>Student</strong>s 563/589-3712All international students holding F-1 visas must report to the International Studies Office withinseven (7) days <strong>of</strong> their arrival at the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Dubuque</strong>. Laptops for use in the library may be checked out at theCirculation Desk. We have a variety <strong>of</strong> study spaces, including group and individual study roomsand a media room.Sylvia’s Common Ground C<strong>of</strong>fee Shop is a great place to take a break and get lunch or a snack.It is located on the main floor <strong>of</strong> the Charles C. Myers Library.Although students will see librarians in classes, librarians are also available to help studentsindividually, in person, by e-mail (reference@dbq.edu), instant messaging (udreference), andphone (563/589-3770).Collections: The book collection contains over 188,000 print volumes and thousands <strong>of</strong> digitalbooks. <strong>Student</strong>s have access to 55,000 digital periodicals, 304 periodicals in paper, and 4,500films and can search over 90 databases in all academic disciplines. Books circulate for fourweeks; films and periodicals circulate for a week.49
