Vehicle Tow PolicyAny vehicle blocking another vehicle, a driveway, or a fire lane is subject to towing without notice,at the owner’s expense. Vehicles with excessive tickets are considered habitual violators <strong>of</strong> theparking regulations, and may be subject to judicial referral to the Office <strong>of</strong> <strong>Student</strong> Life and/ortowed at the owner’s expense.Bicycle Parking and Skateboard PolicyThe <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Dubuque</strong> has an obligation to provide a safe environment for students, faculty,staff, and visitors and to protect university property. Skateboarding can be dangerous andpresents a safety issue for drivers, pedestrians, and the skateboarder. Skateboarding can alsocause significant damage to benches, railings, steps, curbs, and trash receptacles. Therefore,skateboarding, skating, and cycling are not permitted on campus, except for special eventsscheduled by the <strong>University</strong>. Bicycling is permitted in designated areas only.Campus includes inside <strong>of</strong> buildings and the property surrounding the buildings, includingcampus steps and parking lots. “Skateboarding” refers to any motion <strong>of</strong> the skateboard with arider on the board. “Skating” refers to the motion <strong>of</strong> skater wearing inline or regular skates.“Cycling” refers to riding by whatever means with one or both feet on the bicycle or unicycle.All bicycles should only be parked in the bicycle racks provided by the <strong>University</strong>, and not lockedto railings or trees located outside <strong>of</strong> buildings or anywhere else on campus.All gas powered vehicles, motorcycles, mopeds, and motorized bicycles must be registered withSafety and Security and parked in designated areas only (not in bicycle racks).POSTING POLICYAll postings must be on the designated bulletin boards on campus. Posting on walls, doors, orwindows will not be permitted.Postings that are directly connected to a UD campus department, course, or registeredorganization can be posted on campus after receiving approval and a stamp from the <strong>Student</strong>Life Office (563/589-3128, 2nd Floor <strong>of</strong> Peters Commons). This policy does not apply topromotional materials <strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficial <strong>University</strong> events whose publications are produced by the<strong>University</strong> Relations <strong>of</strong>fice. Please note that for some posting locations*, additional approval isalso required. Any posting without prior approval and a stamp may be removed and discarded.Thumb tacks or scotch tape should be used when posting on the bulletin boards; no duct tape,packaging tape, or nails. Postings should be removed within 48 hours <strong>of</strong> the conclusion <strong>of</strong>program or event. If these guidelines are not followed, organizations and/or departments maylose posting privileges.Postings not directly sponsored or affiliated with a UD campus department, course, or registeredorganization are required to have approval and receive a date stamp prior to posting.
