Its objectives were to engagelearners and support their progress towards Skills for Life qualifications, embedded invocational competence, using a blend of learning approaches. These approaches includedthe use of mobile devices such as mobile phones and PPCs. The project used the Move Onapproach, which involves careful screening, assessment and targeting of learners to helpthem make progress quickly and efficiently, ideally going on to take the NationalQualifications in Adult Literacy and Numeracy.There was also a capacity-building aspect to the project to focus on developing capability atLevels 2, 3 and 4 for staff who were working to recruit, support or teach the learners.
