He received the 2003 Andrija Stampar medal for contributions to Europeanpublic health and in 2005 was made a Commander of the Order of theBritish Empire.Suranjana Nabar-Bhaduri is a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Frederick S. <strong>Pardee</strong>Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future at Boston University. Her areasof specialization are in development economics, international economics, andthe Indian economy. Her current research interests include the developmentand evaluation of policies conducive to sustainable and inclusive development,external imbalances and their implications for long-run growth, remittances anddevelopment, the effects of trade liberalization on poverty, the political economyof international relations, the development of alternative measures of humandevelopment, and the development of policies to make the global economicsystem more attuned and responsive to the needs of long-run development. Herwork has been published in academic journals including The International Journalof Political Economy and Challenge: The Magazine of Economic Affairs, andas a part of the Issues in Brief series of the <strong>Pardee</strong> Center. She has also authoredeconomic articles and op-eds for economics blogs including Triple Crisis and forthe Argentinean newspaper, Página/12. She is a member of the Eastern EconomicsAssociation (EEA), and has presented her work at conferences includingthe EEA and the Western Social Sciences Association-Association for InstitutionalThought (WSSA-AFIT). She received her Ph.D. in economics from theUniversity of Utah in 2011.Raymond Natter is a partner with the law firm of Barnett Sivon & Natter, P.C.He was formerly the Deputy Chief Counsel for the Office of the Comptroller ofthe Currency (1995–2004), and served in a senior staff position with the SenateBanking Committee. He holds an LL.M. from the George Washington University,J.D. from Georgetown University, and a B.S. from Rensselaer.Chantel F. Pheiffer, a native of South Africa, is currently a master’s student ofGlobal Development Policy at Boston University. Her current research focuseson migration, remittances, and development.
