Two hours of lecture andone three-hour laboratory per week.Mechanisms, distribution, and mitigation ofgeological hazards, including earthquakes,surface fault ruptures, volcanoes, landslides,floods, and ground subsidence. Field trips are required.DEPARTMENT OF HISPANICSTUDIESThe Department of Hispanics Studies,established in 1956 as the Spanish Department,offers a Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Studies. Itprovides courses of instruction for all students oncampus, as well as courses which are required byother academic programs.The Department of Hispanic Studies offers aprogram that emphasizes the dual aspects oflanguage and literature.
