Four credit hours. Three hours oflecture and one three-hour laboratory per week.Prerequisite: PHCS 3027.Introduction to electromagnetism for high schoolteachers, including teaching methodologies andtechniques. Topics include Coulomb’s Law,electric fields, electric potential, circuits,magnetic force, Biot-Savart’s law, magneticinduction, and electromagnetic waves.PHCS 3029. MODERN PHYSICS FORTEACHERS. Four credit hours. Three hours oflecture and one two-hour laboratory per week.Prerequisite: PHCS 3028.Introduction to modern physics for high schoolsteachers, including methodologies andtechniques. Topics include special relativity, thephotoelectric effect, blackbody radiation, theCompton effect, atomic spectra, Bohr’s atom,quantum mechanics, and nuclear physics.PHCS 3091. ELEMENTS OF PHYSICS. Threecredit hours.
