Three hours of lecture per week.Prerequisite: AGED 4005.Principles, criteria, procedures and techniquesemployed in the evaluation of the performance ofstudents in Vocational Agriculture.AGED 4026. SUPERVISION INAGRICULTURAL EXTENSION ANDVOCATIONAL AGRICULTURE. Three credithours. Three hours of lecture per week.Prerequisite: Consent of the Director of theDepartment.Theories, principles and practice pertaining tosupervision in agricultural extension andvocational agriculture; factors that influenceneeds, philosophies, and types of supervision atthe local, regional, state and national levels;training, responsibilities, personal traits andduties of the supervisor.AGRICULTURAL EXTENSIONUNDERGRADUATE COURSESAGEX 4005. EXTENSION PHILOSOPHYAND OBJECTIVES. Three credit hours. Threehours of lecture per week.This course is designed to familiarize studentswith the organization, philosophy, and objectivesof the Agricultural Extension Service.AGEX 4006. TEACHING METHODS ANDTECHNIQUES IN EXTENSION. Three credithours. Three hours of lecture per week.This course covers the various educationalmethods used by the extension service. Thestudents will participate in the major activities ofthe extension work in the district in cooperationwith the local agent of the Puerto RicoAgricultural Extension Service.AGEX 4007. SUMMER PRACTICUM INEXTENSION. Three credit hours. Six weeksduration.The student is required to report to anagricultural extension work under the guidanceof an Agricultural Extension agent. A plan ofthe work to be observed and practiced, andwhere it is to be carried out, must be approved bythe student's counselor. Evaluation will be doneby the counselor, in close coordination with theCounty Agent and the District Supervisor,whenever possible.AGEX 4008. SPECIAL PROBLEMS INEXTENSION. One to three credit hours. One tothree research periods per week. Prerequisite:AGEX 4005.The student selects and studies an area ofextension of his interest, and reports the findings.72
