Threehours of lecture per week. Prerequisites: MEEG4015 and MEEG 4002.A comprehensive study of the fundamentals ofair conditioning; psychometric calculations;comfort, health and industrial processesrequirements; heating and cooling loads; airconditioning equipment and its selection.MEEG 4037. INTERNAL COMBUSTIONENGINES. Three credit hours. Three hours oflecture per week. Prerequisite: MEEG 4015.A presentation and study of modern sparkignitionand compression-ignition engines,including types and characteristics; operatingpower cycles; combustion phenomena; engineperformance; heat losses and efficiencies.MEEG 4039. MECHANICAL ENGINEERINGPRACTICE. Three credit hours. Thirty fivehours per week for seven (7) or more weeksduring the Summer or its equivalent during thesemester. Prerequisite: Consent of the Directorof the Department.A course organized in cooperation with privateindustry or government to provide the studentwith practical experience in mechanicalengineering. The work performed by the studentwill be jointly supervised by the academicdepartment and an appropriate official from thecooperating organization. An oral and writtenreport will be required from the student uponcompletion of the project.MEEG 4045. GENERALTHERMODYNAMICS FOR ENGINEERS.Three credit hours. Three hours of lecture perweek. Thermodynamic and energeticconcepts, properties of pure substances, heattransfer, heat engines.MEEG 4055. MANUFACTURINGPROCESSES. Three credit hours. Three hoursof lecture per week. Prerequisite: GEEG 4001.Different manufacturing processes and machinetools; influence of the method of fabricationupon the properties of materials; computer andnumerical control of machine-tools; use ofplastics.MEEG 4056.
