Must-Do’s – Safety/Regulatory Items
• Install concrete access ramps and sidewalks
leading to the Heritage House
• Ensure positive drainage away from buildings and
outdoor gathering spaces
Low-Cost, High-Impact Projects
• Use volunteer hours to install new plant material,
mulch , groundcover and edging
• Install wooden white picket fencing, arbors and
gates (as indicated on the design plan)
• Collect oral history videos from Avila family
members & package into movie format
Medium & Large Projects
• Remove existing asphalt alley and replace with
raised community garden plots
• Move large gazebo from Town Square parking lot,
paint white and locate at eastern edge of
Heritage House Event Lawn
• Install irrigation system (drip heads to shrub beds
and roter heads in Event Lawn)

• Contract with an artist to design a series of
outdoor interpretive displays that document this
history of the Avila family (migrant history,
Hispanic American history) and the history of the
Anna Flood House. Encourage the artist to use
QR codes to link to recorded oral histories of the
Avila family
