Project Area Recommendations
Broad Street Improvements
Chapter 3: Recommendations
Medium & Large Projects
• Install iron fencing topped with metal/trex slatted
bench seating around 3 sides of each expanded
tree growing area, leaving side adjacent to Broad
Street open (stage two of tree growing area
improvements)
• Install streetscape furnishings (benches, trash,
planters, bicycle racks)
• Finalize the design of signage and wayfinding
elements and install at least one sign per block
per year
• Coordinate with CDOT to understand the
timeframe for replacement of curbs along Broad
Street – escrow funds to ensure money is
available to replace all the downtown sidewalks
ad underground utilities (including adding new
utilities such as fiber, wifi, irrigation and
additional lighting/electrical capacity) when
CDOT is ready to replace the curbs
Estimated Total Project Cost
(including 20% contingency):
$520,455
Incrementally adding a unified palette of
streetscape furnishings to Broad Street
will help create a more inviting,
functional and memorable experience for
downtown visitors
