Project Area Recommendations Broad Street Architectural Infill Broad Street Architectural Character & Infill Potential As Milliken grows and continues to redevelop, there will be opportunities to construct new buildings on existing empty or underutilized downtown lots. In order to have the proposed infill projects reflect the character, scale and massing of existing downtown buildings, even large infill projects should have articulated facades and be limited to two stories (ground floor retail and residential/office above). The preferred materiality of new buildings is brick on the sides facing Broad Street, and a mixture of brick and a hardiplank-type of material on the side streets and alley elevations.
