Existing Conditions Parks – Avila Park Avila Park Chapter 2: Existing Conditions Located north of Town Hall, Avila Park has links to a local family that migrated from Texas to work the Colorado farm fields. In 2012/2013, an older home was moved onto the site to function as a living history museum and community gathering place. The park site has several very large mature trees that provide shade and privacy. A wooden gazebo is located near the parks eastern edge. Traditionally, the park was used for community gardening/relaxing. Existing Conditions Parks – Lola Park Lola Park Located three blocks south of Broad Street, Lola Park is one of <strong>Milliken</strong>’s most important public gathering spaces. As the venue for the annual ‘Beef and Bean Day’ celebration, Lola Park not only functions as a neighborhood park, it also is a community festival space. Several improvements were completed in Lola Park during the summer of 2013. Bridge improvements, and an improved drainageway were constructed in August 2013.
