“
I love players that sacrifice their personal
statistics for the team and Celek
leads the Eagles in that category.
”
- ESPN analyst Jon Gruden
One of the toughest and most reliable players in team
history, Brent Celek does it all from the tight end position.
He is a big target in the passing game, a relentless
blocker and an unquestioned leader on the
squad. Despite not being invited to the NFL Scouting
Combine, Celek went on to become a 5th round pick
in 2007 and developed into one of the most productive
Eagle tight ends ever. He has also ingrained himself
within the Philadelphia community with his philanthropic
work and business acumen. After inking a
new deal in 2016, Celek is signed through 2018.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
• Produced one of the most prolific seasons by an
Eagles tight end in 2009, setting career highs in
receptions (76), yards (971) and TDs (eight). These
numbers were the second-highest single-season
totals in team history in all three categories among
tight ends. In addition, his yards and touchdown totals
ranked fourth among all NFL tight ends
• Set a franchise playoff record with 10 catches, (83
yards and two TDs) in the NFC Championship game
on 1/18/09 at Ari. His two TD receptions tied a team
postseason record (Chad Lewis, Fred Barnett,
Harold Carmichael)
• With 157 receiving yards vs. the Ravens on 9/16/12,
Celek recorded the second-highest yardage output
by a tight end in franchise history behind Pete
Retzlaff’s 204 yards vs. Was. on 11/14/65
