BIRDSEED
• Considers his college tight ends coach, Steve
Ensminger, the person who has had the biggest
impact on his career. “He taught me how to play
nasty and to let my personality shine on the field.”
• Nicknamed “Bull” by former LSU teammate and
current Panthers G Trai Turner, based on the way
he played on the field with the Tigers
• Began playing football at 3 years old against 5- and
6-year olds. Gordon, who started out as a quarterback
and later transitioned to running back, tight
end and eventually offensive line in the NFL, was
always the youngest player on his team
PERSONAL
• Played high school football at John Curtis in River
Ridge, LA, and helped lead the squad to a state title
as a senior in 2011. Earned Class 2A first-team honors
that season after playing a major role in the running
game and grabbing seven receptions for 122
yards and two touchdowns. Also logged 12 tackles
and three sacks on defense
• Was named a New Orleans Times-Picayune Blue
Chip recruit and was rated the No. 23 tight end prospect
in the nation by Rivals.com
• Son of Rita and Bernard Jarrow
• Is the cousin of former LSU and current Falcons DE
Tyson Jackson, who was originally selected by the
Kansas City Chiefs in the first round (No. 3 overall)
of the 2009 NFL Draft. Also cousins with former
Tigers FB Quinn Johnson, who played in the NFL for
five seasons (2009-2013)
• Majored in sports administration
COLLEGE HIGHLIGHTS
• Played in 42 games (28 starts) during his four-year
career at LSU and served predominantly as a blocking
tight end in the Tigers offense
• Appeared in just three games during his final collegiate
campaign in 2015 before his career was cut
short due to an Achilles injury
• Started all 13 games at tight end as a junior in 2014
and helped LSU rush for 2,919 yards, marking the
fifth-highest single-season rushing total in school
history. As a part of that effort, helped clear the
way for freshman RB Leonard Fournette to rush for
1,034 yards and 10 touchdowns
• Played in 13 games (12 starts) as a sophomore in
2013 and led all LSU tight ends with six catches for
88 yards (14.7 avg.). Snagged a career-long 36-yard
reception in a win vs. Texas A&M (11/23/13)
• Saw action on offense and special teams in all 13
games as a true freshman in 2012, but did not record
