Kamu Grugier-Hill (pronounced KAH-moo GREW-jay<br />

HILL) was acquired by the Eagles off waivers from the<br />

New England Patriots on Sept. 4, 2016, following the<br />

53-man roster cutdown. Originally a sixth-round draft<br />

choice of the Patriots in 2016, Grugier-Hill played<br />

in 49 games over his four-year career at Eastern<br />

Illinois and earned first-team Ohio Valley Conference<br />

accolades as a junior and senior. As a senior in 2015,<br />

he compiled 70 tackles (16.5 for a loss) and 6.5 sacks.<br />

BIRDSEED<br />

• Pre-game ritual consists of listening to country<br />

music until an hour and a half before kickoff and<br />

then listening to rap until warmups. Following<br />

warmups, he switches to EDM/house music until<br />

the team walks out of the tunnel for kickoff<br />

• Became the 15th player in Eastern Illinois history<br />

to be selected in the NFL Draft and the first since<br />

QB Jimmy Garoppolo was picked by the New<br />

England Patriots in 2014. Also became just the third<br />

Panthers defender and the first Panthers LB to be<br />

drafted by an NFL club<br />

• Returned to action in Week 11 at Sea. (11/20) and<br />

notched his third special teams tackle of the season<br />

COLLEGE HIGHLIGHTS<br />

• Played in 49 games (27 starts) for the Eastern<br />

Illinois Panthers and finished his career with 236<br />

nine passes defensed, four forced fumbles and five<br />

fumble recoveries<br />

• Made 10 starts as a senior in 2015 and was named<br />

first-team Ohio Valley Conference after compiling<br />

70 tackles (50 solo) and a career-high 6.5 sacks.<br />

Also registered an interception and set a singleseason<br />

career-high with three fumble recoveries<br />

• Appeared in 12 games (11 starts) as a junior in<br />

2014 and garnered first-team OVC accolades after<br />

leading the team with a career-high 97 tackles (47<br />

solo). Also notched 1.5 sacks, two FFs, two FRs<br />

recoveries and three INTs. Was named the OVC<br />

Defensive Player of the Week after he compiled 19<br />

tackles in a win at Tennessee Tech (11/1/14)<br />

• Saw action in all 14 games as a sophomore in 2013<br />

and made five starts. Compiled 42 tackles (24 solo),<br />

the first sack of his career, an interception, three<br />

passes defensed and a forced fumble
