Solitaire (Violet) Level 26<br />

This jagged purple crystal lets you follow up on a successful<br />

attack.<br />

Wondrous Item 1,125,000 gp<br />

Power (Encounter): Free Action. Use this power when<br />

you score a critical hit on your turn. Gain 1 action point,<br />

which you must spend before the end of your turn. This<br />

does not count against the normal limit of spending an<br />

action point no more than once per encounter.<br />

Special: You cannot use more than one solitaire in an<br />

encounter.<br />

Spymaster’s Quill Level 10<br />

This ornate quill pen can magically record and reproduce any<br />

text or illustration.<br />

Wondrous Item 5,000 gp<br />

Power (At-Will): Standard Action. Pass the spymaster’s quill<br />

over an amount of text or an illustration equivalent to<br />

a single parchment page. The image or text is magically<br />

recorded for later reproduction. Recording another page<br />

with the quill erases the page already recorded.<br />

Power (At-Will): Standard Action. You point the spymaster’s<br />

quill at a sheet of parchment or paper and mentally<br />

command it to reproduce the illustration or text recorded<br />

within it. No matter what the medium of the original<br />

(charcoal on paper, runes scribed in stone, and so on), the<br />

reproduction is rendered in normal ink.<br />

Special: The reproduction created by the quill is of perfect<br />

quality, but the quill cannot record magical properties. For<br />

example, you cannot perform a ritual from a ritual scroll<br />

recorded and copied by the spymaster’s quill, nor can the<br />

quill copy powers or rituals from a wizard’s spellbook.<br />

Stylus of the Translator Level 7<br />

This writing implement allows you to scribe in translation.<br />

Wondrous Item 2,600 gp<br />

Power (At-Will): Free Action. Whenever you write with<br />

the stylus, your writing is automatically translated into<br />

another language. Each stylus can translate into only one<br />

language, chosen when the item is created.<br />

Special: You must be fluent in the language that you are<br />

writing for the stylus to function. For example, you could<br />

not copy text in an unknown language and have the stylus<br />

translate it into a known language.<br />

CHAPTER 2 | Magic Items<br />

Talisman of Fortune Level 15<br />

This small gold talisman renews a magic item or strengthens<br />

your health, attacks, and defenses in turn.<br />

Wondrous Item 25,000 gp<br />

Power (Daily): Minor Action. You must spend an action<br />

point to use this power. When you do, roll 1d20 and add<br />

+1 to the result for each milestone you’ve reached today.<br />

The total result determines the power’s effect(s):<br />

1–9: Lose 1 healing surge, or take damage equal to onequarter<br />

of your maximum hit point total if you have no<br />

healing surges remaining. Gain one extra daily use of a<br />

magic item in your possession (your choice, not including<br />

the talisman of fortune) until the end of the encounter.<br />

You also renew the power of the talisman.<br />

10–19: Recover one expended healing surge and gain a<br />

+1 power bonus to attack rolls and all defenses until the<br />

end of your next turn.<br />

20 or higher: As 10–19, and you renew the power of the<br />

talisman.<br />

Unfettered Thieves’ Tools Level 11<br />

The picks, keys, tweezers, and tongs that comprise this set of<br />

thieves’ tools move through the air and operate under your<br />

mental command.<br />

Wondrous Item 9,000 gp<br />

Property: Like a normal set of thieves’ tools, unfettered<br />

thieves’ tools grant a +2 bonus to Thievery checks made to<br />

open locks or disable traps.<br />

Power (Daily): As part of the action required to make a<br />

Thievery check, you can make the check on an object<br />

up to 5 squares away. You must have line of sight to the<br />

object.<br />

Watchful Ruby Eye Level 6<br />

This crimson gem set in gold and silver enhances your warding<br />

rituals.<br />

Wondrous Item 1,800 gp<br />

Property: While grasping this gem, any skill check you make<br />

as part of a warding ritual gains a +2 power bonus.<br />

Special: The watchful ruby eye can be used as a focus in<br />

warding rituals that allow a focus (such as eye of alarm).<br />

The value of a watchful ruby eye must meet the focus cost<br />

requirement for the ritual, as normal.
