Gabriele Münter zählt mit ihren farbkräftigen, expressionistischen Arbeiten zu den wichtigsten Vertreterinnen der deutschen Avantgarde. Das Leopold Museum widmet der
Künstlerin, als erste österreichische Institution, eine umfassende Retrospektive mit rund 120 Werken aus zahlreichen öffentlichen und privaten Sammlungen. 20.10.2023-

Gabriele Münter, with her vibrant and expressive works, is among the most prominent representatives of the German avant-garde. The Leopold Museum dedicates a
comprehensive retrospective to this artist, making it the first Austrian institution to do so. The exhibition will showcase around 120 pieces from various public and private

Die zweite Septemberwoche bietet Gelegenheit für ein profundes Update in Sachen zeitgenössischer
Kunst: Die „Parallel Vienna“ eröffnet den Wiener Kunstherbst 2023. Der spannende Hybrid
aus Ausstellungsplattform, Messe und Festival bespielt dieses Jahr vom 05.09.-10.09.2023 das
Otto Wagner Areal auf den Steinhofgründen. Die „viennacontemporary“ im Kursalon Hübner folgt
vom 07.09.-10.09.2023. Auf der internationalen Kunstmesse zeigen mehr als 60 Galerien und
Institutionen aus ganz Europa, von Portugal bis zur Türkei, relevante, aktuelle Positionen der
Gegenwartskunst.
The second week of September presents a perfect opportunity for an in-depth update on
contemporary art: “Parallel Vienna” inaugurates Vienna’s 2023 art autumn. This exciting hybrid
between an exhibition platform, fair and festival will take place from September 5 to 10
September 2023 at the Otto Wagner Areal on the Steinhof Grounds. Following this event, from 7
to 10 September 2023, the “viennacontemporary” will be held at Kursalon Hübner. This
international art fair will feature more than 60 galleries and institutions from all across Europe,
showcasing relevant and current trends in contemporary art, ranging from Portugal to Turkey.

| Seeing through the eyes
of a child
„Kind sein“ steht noch bis zum
05.11.2023 im Fokus der großen
Jahresausstellung der Schallaburg.
Zwölf spannende Bereiche von der
Antike bis zur Gegenwart beleuchten
Themen wie den kindlichen Blick,
seit wann es spezielle Kleidung für
Kinder gibt oder die Frage, wie lange
man eigentlich Kind ist. Die
Ausstellung versteht sich auch als
Einladung, die Welt wieder vermehrt
mit Kinderaugen zu sehen.
“Being a child” is the central theme
of the grand annual exhibition at
Schallaburg Castle, running until 5
November 2023. Twelve captivating
sections, spanning from antiquity
to the present, shed light on topics
such as the child’s perspective, the
origins of special clothing for
children and the notion of how long
childhood is supposed to last. The
exhibition also serves as an
invitation to view the world with
the innocence and wonder of a
child.

Kunst zwischen Buchdeckeln | Art between book covers
Das Medium Künstlerbuch in seiner ganzen spannenden Breite zeigt die Schau
„Connected III - 10 days of artists‘ books“ in der Künstlerhaus Factory vom
07.10.-16.10.2023. Rund 40 Positionen aus Österreich werden ergänzt von 30
Arbeiten tschechischer Kunstschaffenden aus der Galerie Hollar in Prag. Die vom
Tschechischen Zentrum Wien, der Kulturabteilung der Tschechischen Botschaft
Österreich, unterstützte Ausstellung nimmt auch an der „ORF-Lange Nacht der
Museen“ am 07.10.2023 teil.
The medium of artists’ books in all of its fascinating diversity is on display at the
“Connected III – 10 days of artists’ books” exhibition at the Künstlerhaus Factory
from 7 to 16 October 2023. Around 40 works from Austrian artists are complemented
by 30 pieces from Czech artists from the Hollar Gallery in Prague. Supported by
the Czech Center Vienna and the Cultural Department of the Czech Embassy in
Austria, the exhibition will also participate in the “ORF Long Night of Museums” on
7 October 2023.
