En 1966, Patricio Coll y Jorge
Goldenberg, junto con Luis
Zanger y Hugo Bonomo, filmaron
el documental Hachero
Nomás en la cuña boscosa
del norte de la provincia de
Santa Fe. Esa película trataba
acerca de la situación social de
los hacheros de la región y el
equipo de rodaje estableció su
base en un pequeño poblado
llamado Fortín Olmos, donde
unos años antes se había afincado
un grupo de sacerdotes
obreros de la Congregación de
Los Hermanitos de Foucauld.
Cuarenta años después, Jorge
Goldenberg y Patricio Coll salieron
en busca de los sobrevivientes
de aquella experiencia.
In 1966, Patricio Coll and Jorge
Goldenberg, together with Luis
Zanger and Hugo Bonomo
filmed the documentary
Hachero Nomás in the forest
hills to the north of the province
of Santa Fe. This film was
about the social situation of
the woodcutters from the
region and the filming team
established its base in a small
village named Fortín Olmos,
where years earlier a group of
priests from the Congregación
de Los Hermanitos de Foucauld
had settled. Forty years
later, Jorge Goldenberg and
Patricio Coll search for the
survivors of this experience.

Un grupo de pescadores de
diferentes países pasan sus
noches sobre un barco, la
oscuridad que los rodea oculta
el horizonte. La rutina del
trabajo cotidiano los atrapa
entre redes y peces que
agonizan. Después de la tarea
se encierran en los camarotes
para recordar el mundo que
dejaron. Afuera la inmensidad
del océano sigue inmutable.
A group of fishermen from
different countries spend their
nights in a boat, the darkness
surrounding them conceals
the horizon. Their daily routine
keeps them trapped between
nets and dying fishes. After
a day’s work, they remain in
their cabins remembering the
world they left behind. On the
outside, the immensity of the
ocean remains unchanged.

Este es un ensayo personal
sobre mi madre, basado en
una caja de fotografías que me
pasó mi padre. Una investigación
documental, un viaje al
pasado y también un viaje real
desde la Argentina, donde vivo,
hacia el sitio donde ella nació
y que siempre quiso olvidar:
la India. A medida que intento
desvelar los misterios del destino
de mi madre, en una serie
de encuentros con personajes
sorprendentes, las vueltas
inesperadas del camino revelan
algo más: el descubrimiento
de mi propia identidad oculta.

This is a personal story about
my mother, based on a box of
photographs given to me by
my father. It’s a documentary
research, a trip to the past
as well as a real life trip from
Argentina, where I live, to the
place where my mother was
born and one which she always
wanted to forget: India. While
trying to solve the mysteries of
my mother’s destiny, in a series
of meetings with surprising
characters, the unexpected turn
of events along the way reveal
something else: the discovery
of my own hidden identity.

El Pulqui fue el primer avión a
reacción diseñado y construido
totalmente en Argentina
durante el gobierno del
presidente Perón (año 1951).
En el mismo momento en la
URSS se fabrica el Mig 13 y
en EEUU el Sabre F86. En
1955 un golpe militar derroca
a Perón y este proyecto muere
junto con la esperanza de
un país diferente. Argentina,
2005, el pintor Daniel Santoro
se propone realizar un singular
objeto artístico: un avión
Pulqui, a la mitad del modelo
original, construido totalmente
en aluminio. Además quiere
hacerlo volar. En esta aventura
lo acompaña Miguel un viejo
maquinista de teatro, entre ambos
trataran de revivir el mito.
Pulqui was the first Argentine jet
fighter plane designed and built
during Perón’s time as President
of Government (year 1951).
Simultaneously, the USSR built
the Mig 13 and the USA the
Sabre F86. In 1955, a military
coup d’état overthrows Perón
and this project is buried along
with the hopes of a new country.
Argentina, 2005, the painter
Daniel Santoro has one singular
artistic objective in mind: a
Pulqui jet fighter plane, half in
size to the original model, built
completely from aluminium.
Above all, he wants it to fly. He
is joined in this adventure by
Miguel, an old theatre machine
operator, and together they
will try to relive the legend.
