Filtering and Analysis of Noise You can use the line display buttons to maximize the visual contrast between the signals by setting the line color for noise to gray and the line color for blnoise to white. Do this before printing two signals together. Note You can follow the same rules to print spectra, but you can’t print filter responses directly from SPTool. Use the Signal Browser region in the Preferences dialog box in SPTool to suppress printing of both the panner and the marker settings. To print both signals, press the Print button in the Signal Browser toolbar. Step 5: Spectral Analysis in the Spectrum Viewer You can analyze the frequency content of a signal using the Spectrum Viewer, which estimates and displays a signal’s power spectral density. For example, to analyze and compare the spectra of noise and blnoise: 1 Create a power spectral density (PSD) object, spect1, that is associated with the signal noise, and a second PSD object, spect2, that is associated with the signal blnoise. 6-29
