Apollo und Hyacinth entstand als »Intermedium« – als ein Stück, in dem musikalische und gesprochene<br />
Abschnitte einander abwechseln – für eine Aufführung der »Tragoedia« Clementia Croesi am<br />
Salzburger Universitätsgymnasium. Es ist das erste Bühnenwerk des Wunderkindes, Mozart komponierte<br />
es mit 11 Jahren. Widls Text greift auf den alten Frühlingsmythos von der Metamorphose des<br />
Hyacinth zurück, wie sie bei Ovid, Palaiphatos und Lukian überliefert ist. Von Mozarts frühem Werk<br />
liegt nun erstmals ein Klavierauszug vor. <strong>Die</strong>ser bietet neben dem originalen lateinischen Text auch<br />
eine neue, singbare deutsche Übersetzung.<br />
Apollo and Hyacinth is an “intermedium” – a musical piece performed in alternation with the sections<br />
of a spoken play – and was conceived for performance with the “tragoedia” Clementia Croesi at the<br />
Latin school of Salzburg University. Written when Mozart was only 11 years old, this is his first work<br />
for the stage. For the plot, Widl turned to the ancient spring myth of the metamorphosis of Hyacinth<br />
as recounted by Ovid, Palaiphatos and Lucian. This is the first time the work has appeared in vocal<br />
score. The original Latin has been underlaid with a new singing translation in German.<br />
Apollon et Jacinthe est à l’origine un « intermède » – c’est-à-dire que des sections musicales alternent<br />
avec une pièce de théâtre – pour une représentation de la « Tragoedia » Clementia Croesi au Lycée<br />
de l’Université de Salzbourg. C'est la première œuvre scénique de cet enfant prodige. Mozart la<br />
composa à l'âge de 11 ans. Pour le sujet de cet intermède, Widl eut recours à l’antique mythe du<br />
printemps inspiré de la métamorphose de Jacinthe, tel que l’ont rapporté Ovide, Palaiphatos et<br />
Lucianus. Notre partition pour piano et chant est la première et unique de cet intermède ; au texte<br />
latin original a été ajoutée une version allemande adaptée au chant.
