closed hood system and optimize the heat recovery
In line with the development of increasing
efficiency of production, water and energy savings as
described above, it will reduce the amount of waste
produced. But the consequences will change the
characteristics of the waste water, becomes denser with
increasing levels of dissolved organic. Liquid waste will
be more effectively treated with anaerobic biological
processes. By way of anaerobic biological processes it
will conserve energy, utilize biogas as alternative energy,
and reducing GHG emissions.
Solid waste generated from the pulp and paper
industry is dominated by organic waste that is generally
derived from the raw material fiber. There are several
ways of solid waste management, in general is based on
the characteristics and potentials, which include the
managing of landfills, incineration, composting and
anaerobic digestion. Each of the solid waste
management activities have the potential to generate
energy when used to reduce GHG emissions.
Management of gas emissions from pulp and
paper industry is to control particulates and pollutant
gases. Largest emission sources may come from a
digester, CRP and power plant. Selection of gas
management technology is based on the number and
types of pollutants and the presence or absence of
potential to be exploited. On that ground can be selected
several appliances that particulate control technology
namely cyclones, fabric filters, electrostatic precipitator
(ESP). While the technology to control gas, among
others, use the scrubber, absorber, the gas controlling
