PULPING TECHNOLOGY FOR ENERGY SAVING AND
LOW CARBON
The concept of pulping technology for energysaving
cannot be separated with the concept of
environmentally friendly technologies. In the principle of
energy conservation in the pulp industry is definitely going
environmentally friendly process, and vice versa. The
principle of energy conservation which is most easily
performed and a small risk and do not require high costs
are preventive measures, such as preventing leaks on
piping systems, especially prevention of loss of heat that
flows in a steam pipe. The next most important action is the
behavior or habits of industry personnel to always treat
your work area or unit of production as the area and
energy-efficient machine.
As it is known that the pulp industry is one of the
industry with huge potential to pollute the environment,
especially pollution resulting from liquid effluent in the
bleaching process. The implementation of environmentally
sound pulping technology has now become a must for the
pulp and paper industry and has become the standard
technology. Given the dangers of chlorine-organic
compounds are considered highly toxic waste from the
bleaching with chlorine, then the use of chlorine should be
abandoned.
To support this effort, in addition to improving
existing bleaching process towards chlorine-free bleaching
technology, which is even more important is improving the
