The principle of black liquor impregnation is to add
1 unit of impregnation reactor which is used to soak the
chips with black liquor. This principle is similar to the
displacement batch cooking, the use of black liquor at the
beginning of the process. The advantage of this process is
faster cooking process so it can save energy.
Energy conservation performed in the pulp
bleaching units is utilizing heat from the bleaching process.
This heat is obtained at the heat recovery in pulp washing.
Summary of energy conservation in the cooking and
bleaching of pulp can be seen in Table 3.2.
