will be generated carbon emission such as CO2 and CH4
which can be released into the atmosphere as a
greenhouse gas.
Landfill is solid waste management by put the
unused solid waste on the ground in a controlled way.
During the accumulation performed on leachate control
which can cause contamination of ground water, and
control of gas emission that can lead to increased
greenhouse gases. Incineration is the management of solid
waste by burning organic must be equipped with air
pollution control due to the greenhouse effect.
Management of solid waste through composting is an
alternative way that is prospective, but is still constrained
by regulation to the requirements of the use of compost
products. While anaerobic digestion in general is still in the
study and test its application in Indonesian PPI. This
technology is high prospects to be applied, to overcoming
the problems of biological sludge, to produce biogas which
is a renewable fuel gas. But this technology requires
process control and more specific gas emission, both from
the utilization of product gas methane (CH4) as well as
emission of energy that's released into the atmosphere.
2.3.3 Management of Gas Waste
Source of the largest particulate and gas emission
in the Kraft pulp mill is in Chemical Recovery Plant (CRP).
These emission contain sulfur compounds that smell and
are toxic, so it can cause problems if released in the
atmosphere without good control. Management of waste
gases can be done through processing with equipment
electrostatic precipitator (ESP), cyclone, and wet scrubber.
Emission discharged into the air processed through the
chimney with a sufficient height so as not to cause any
