I “prodotti verdi” del RINA
La consapevolezza che adottare
misure per ridurre le
emissioni di CO2, risparmiare
energia e mantenere gli impianti
in efficienza siano un investimento
remunerativo sia dal punto di
vista economico, sia da quello etico
ambientale, accomuna oggi gli
operatori dell’intera catena dello
shipping e questo senso di comune
responsabilità costituisce una forte
motivazione verso il miglioramento
continuo di tutto il settore. In questo
contesto il RINA ricopre, da sempre,
un ruolo da iniziatore, sviluppando
nuove soluzioni tecniche e confermandosi
un attore autorevole nel
processo di evoluzione legislativa.
In concreto, il RINA sta svolgendo
un ruolo di primo piano nell’ambito
di questo approccio proattivo

attraverso strumenti specifici
per l’industria tra cui certificazioni
volontarie che, a differenza di
quanto previsto dalle norme internazionali,
sostanzialmente prescrittive,
forniscono a progettisti,
cantieri ed armatori i mezzi per
implementare soluzioni e procedure
innovative affinché la nave
ottenga i migliori risultati sia in
termini di protezione ambientale
sia in termini di prestazioni.

messi a punto in quest’ottica.

2008 delle nuove norme e della
guida per il Condition-Based
RINA for eco-compatible ship
Over the last few years the issues relative to the
prevention of marine pollution and reduction of harmful
emissions into the atmosphere have become increasingly
important, also in the international maritime
community. The marine operators are becoming
increasingly aware that a green ship represents a
fruitful investment and opportunity. A ship emitting
less CO2 into the atmosphere is a more fuel-efficient
ship and this is a guarantee for the owner.
RINA is performing a high-profile role in the field of
this new proactive approach for an eco-compatible
ship, setting up specific tools including voluntary certifications,
such as the publication in 2008 of the CBM
– Condition Based Maintenance guide lines.
The introduction of this gives added value for the
shipowners, widening the traditional Planned Maintenance
Scheme to reach maximum flexibility whilst
boosting the ship’s safety. That means a proactive
and flexible approach for the machinery maintenance
as well as providing added safety.
Mr. Stefano Bertilone, European General Manager
for RINA Marine Division, said that the research activities
and innovative services performed by RINA are a
great support for the sustainability of the marine sector
and fulfilled perfectly the needs of their clients.
