gruppi armatoriali genovesi vivranno prossimamente
mesi positivamente intensi.
all’esercizio precedente.
Arriveranno invece nelle prossime settimane
Floriana e A.H. Valletta, unità in costruzione
controllata maltese Tug Malta.
stupid enough to think that the crisis is over but we
have reason to believe that the new-build market offers
economic opportunities difficult to duplicate”
The Messina family is in good company with the
Novella family, owners of Ottavio Novella Spa which
controls Ciane-Anapo in addition to Caliga active
in the short sea tanker market and in bunkering. In
fact Valeria Novella becomes president of the “young
owners” of Confitarma. The Ciane family came back
to the market at the end of February by purchasing
a 3,087 dwt IMO II chemical carrier from the Turkish
yard Cicek. Renamed Brezzamare the vessel joins a
sister ship Frecciamare purchased 10 months ago
At the same time Energy Shipping, part of Energy
Coal and the shipping arm of Italiana Coke Energy
headed by Augusto Ascheri ordered two general cargo
vessels of 13.000 dwt and 16.000 dwt from two Chinese
yards. Delivery of the first vessel will be in 2010
and the second between 2010 and 2011. The vessels
costing 30 million euros financed by Italian banks will
join the MV Sunflower purchased in February 2009..
Quoted Premuda SpA , president Alcide Ezio Rosina,
closed 2009 with a loss of 20.8 million euros compared
with 2008 profits of 8,7 million euros after writing
down the values of four vessels by 22.5 million.
These losses have been covered by reserves and undistributed
profits. Permuda will also issue a dividend
as well as launching a rights issue of 35.2 million euros.
In addition Permuda has confirmed its plans to
increase fleet by building two aframax bulk tankers
at Korean yard Samsung for delivery in May 2011 and
May 2012, two 34,000 ton bigate bulk carriers at Vietnamese
yard Vinashin for delivery in Spring 2011 and
2012 and seven 35,000 ton craned bulk carriers at Korean
yard SPP with deliveries in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Two new tugs are to be delivered from Spain to
Rimorchiatori Riuniti, a Genoa tug company, named
A.H. Floriana and A.H. Valletta and built at Union Naval
Valencia and Armon, the tugs will enter service
with subsidiary Tug Malta. Owner families of Rimorchiatori
Riuniti Gavarone e Delle Piane also have interests
in traditional shipping, owning the majority of
the shares in Euroceanica, a UK company active in
chemical and petroleum product shipping. Euroceanica
has two 9,000 ton chemical carriers for delivery in
2011 and 2012 from Chinese yard Chuangong and two
113,000 ton crude oil aframax tankers from the Korean
yard SPP. Crude tankers are a further diversification
for Euroceanica following two 76,000 ton panamax
and delivery of a 118.000 ton capsize for delivery in
