It served its function in the years 1944–1951. Its activityalso concentrated on suitable health protection of the community. Its priority wasto stop diseases from spreading among people. Medical-sanitary institutions of the RepatriationDepartment were of great importance, often as the only ones, helping the needy ina given area. Concerned about people’s welfare and health condition, they helped in variousways. And the situation in this respect was particularly wretched in newly-acquiredarea in the west and north.
