About the Student
Benjamin Sidoti, a remarkable 18-year-old senior at Cactus Shadow High School, stands out as a
dedicated student in the Chinese IB program, currently navigating his way through the final year
of high school. The essay was an assignment after we learned how important a friend was when
he was in the first semester of his third year of Chinese learning in high school.
Benjamin also serves as the president of the Chinese Honor Society, showcasing his leadership
abilities and dedication to promoting cultural understanding. Beyond his linguistic achievements,
Benjamin is passionate about playing the organ, which he has been learning for four years.
Furthermore, his academic excellence has been acknowledged through the prestigious National
Merit Award. He aspires to join the University of Michigan for his higher education.
