About the Student<br />
My name is Arabell Tripodi ( 崔 蓓 怡 ). I am 13 years old and currently in the 8th grade at Westside<br />
School. I have been learning Mandarin for three and a half years, and I truly enjoy it. In my free<br />
time, I like to read and spend time with my friends. I began my Mandarin journey with Jeremy ( 史<br />
老 师 ) and continued this year with Vanessa ( 陈 老 师 ).<br />
Assignment Guidelines (Instructor: Xinyu Vanessa Chen 陈 欣 钰 )<br />
This is a short journal about what we did during the Lunar New Year week. Students will be able<br />
to write at least 15 sentences with the correct sentence structure that includes a person, time, and<br />
what happened. Students will use connecting words such as 因 为 and 可 是 . They will also use<br />
“ 了 ” when describing something that happened in the past.<br />
