About the Student
Joe is a senior at Hempfield High School. He just turned 18 in March. He started taking Chinese I
in his junior year during the spring semester. He would have liked to double up and take Chinese
II and III in his senior year this year, but unfortunately, the main course scheduling had conflicts.
He is currently enrolled in Chinese II. Joe is a self-reliant learner; he remembers vocabulary and
can apply what he learns effectively. Besides excelling in academic studies, Joe is also an
outstanding athlete in Track and Field, often finishing in 1st or 2nd place.

This is a summative test. Students are expected to use what they learned in the recent unit (My
classroom and colors) to describe the Chinese classroom with proper grammar and precision.
